Originaly a forrest of pines behind the beach, the 1.700 acres of Quinta do Lago now has 72 holes of golf, and a select ion of individually designed villas, many of exceptional quality, set in the pines and alongside the superbly maintained golf courses, considered to be some of the best in Europe. Facilities include an equestrian centre, tennis clubs, lakes with watersports and of course the magnificent beach. The whole is beautifully maintained.
There is a sellection of excellent restaurants and lively night clubs at both Quinta do Lago and the nearby Vale do Lobo. The Buganvilia shopping centre is a popular meeting place.
Within 15 minutes drive are local market towns, old fashioned Portuguese and a wide range of restaurants. The David Lloyd tennis centre, 2 water slide parks and the marina at Vilamoura are within 15 minutes. Faro Airportis about 20 minutes drive.
